At this part we are going to show you some tips from professionals who do it from a long time. Well, a lot of people finding themselves forced to work from home and not in their offices because of COVID-19 which it’s a global pandemic. Wearing your sweatpants and doing your conferences at the same time, what makes it easy for you to procrastinate when you are at your room, *especially while we are all stressed about what happening around us * it’s a fatiguing thing. And the hardest part of this is that it’s kinda difficult to get the balance between your work and your personal life:
1. First Things First; Keep the 8-4 Plan
If you are used to working in your office from 8 to 4, well, you should do the same at home, doing your morning routine, makes your coffee or tea at 8 AM, when it’s time to finish shut your laptop off and do not respond to any phone calls or e-mails from work from 4 PM tell the next day. But u can make this time flexible in depends on the time zone with your co-worker. Do not forget to take care of yourself and relax.
2. Take a Rest
If you are allowed to take a break for lunch or 15-minutes pause, what most of the companies have in their policy; make certain to take enough time to have a walk and give your eyes a break from papers and computer screen.
3. Make Rules
If there is other people with you at home (partner, kids…), you need to create your own space for work to not get interrupted. Make it clear for them that you are working and do not have enough time to do something else; dishes, cooking…. .So you can increase your productivity.
4. Short Walks:
A self-quarantine doesn’t mean you can’t get out of the house get some fresh air for few minutes next to your house or in the balcony, because it’s stressful to keep yourself in the same place every day, this is going to help you to ameliorate your mood. But you should pay attention while you come back to your home wash your hand carefully.
5. Work Position (Ergonomics)
If you do not have an office room at your home it’s not necessary for whom don’t have enough space. Work from the couch may cause some bad effects like back pain, sciatica…. So to avoid those health problems you have to focus on ergonomics: good light, a table if you don’t have desk, don’t forget to put your laptop in front of you and keep your back as straight as possible in 90°.
6. Virtual Socialization:
Distance working can make you feel alone and depressed. To prevent isolation use some Skype, Zoom, Whatsapp…. Some programs that offer you the easiest way to collaborate with your co-workers about work or talk about something else.
7. Communicate, Express, Talk:
It’s necessary to over-communicate, share as much as you can with your counterparts, even if it’s hard then talking face to face. You can talk out loud and be clear and straight forward as possible to get your idea bright from behind your keyboard. Encourage people to do the same as you.
8. Your Clothes and Hygiene:
If you want to improve your productivity, you have to wear too comfortably every day it’s going to effect on your work positively. Brushing your teeth, doing your hair, and dressing in an appropriate way for public as you used to do in your work, you will feel confidence and professional.
9. Headphones & Microphone:
To feel more connected to other human beings around you, you are obliged to do video conferences and use your headphones and microphone even if it’s not comfy, but they are the only way to build a good connection, more meaningful interactions and strongest relationship between you and your colleagues.
